Habana, Cuba Day 1-3

Feel like you’ve gone back in time in this amazing city (Americans changed the B to a V) that has recently celebrated their 500 years.  See the beautiful architecture and get an insight into the culture, people, and food of this island nation.  Head up into the hills of a natural UNESCO biosphere where more than 6 million trees have been replanted and visit an almost self-sustaining village.  These sights will make you want to come back for more.

Lima, Peru Day 3-5

The capital of Peru is one of the largest cities in South America, Lima was founded in 1535 under Francisco Pizarro.  Lima was known as “the City of Kings” and today is one of the culinary epicenters of South America. The Plaza de Armas and the 16th-century cathedral are the heart of old Lima Centro – a UNESCO World Heritage site.  We will focus on the area of Miraflores were you will enjoy the breadth and depth of Peruvian cooking.  You will enjoy time by the coastal cliffs at another El Malecón to enjoy Parque del Amor (Love Park) containing modern sculptures, colorful mosaics and amorous couples relaxing on its grassy lawns.  We will also experience the culture and foods from the small district of Barranco, Lima’s bohemian quarter.

Pape’ete, Tahiti Day 7-9

What better place to spend a romantic day than in Pape’ete, Tahiti the capital of French Polynesia, a group of islands in the South Pacific.  We will visit the markets that sell local produce, fish and handicrafts.  A red spire tops the 19th-century Notre Dame Cathedral.  We know you will enjoy the romance of this perfect island.

 

Australia OR Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea Day 9-11

Depending on availability, we we make the stop in Australia or in the Part of the continent of Oceania, which consists of Australia and all the islands around it, Papua is in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.  We will be staying in the capital, Port Moresby.  The accommodations, Rouna Falls, and the National Orchid Garden will make this a unique journey.

Snorkeling in this region will remind you of a nearby reef.

Macau & Hong Kong Day 11-14

Welcome to the Las Vegas of the East.  A special administrative region of China, Macau is famous for its casinos and Michelin Star restaurants.  Macau’s rich and vibrant history has helped make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  We will cross the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (the world’s longest sea crossing bridge) for a day to experience even more great food and culture in Hong Kong.

Nairobi, Kenya Day 14-17

Known as the Green City in the Sun, Nairobi is filled with natural beauty and culture.  The first night is at the all butler Hemmingway’s Hotel before heading to the over 700 sq. mile Masai Mara reserve for two safari runs and a champagne brunch hot air balloon experience like none other.  The memories made here will never be forgotten.

Cairo, Egypt Day 17-19

“The City of a Thousand Minarets,” located near the Nile Delta, Cairo was founded in 969 AD during the Fatimid Dynasty.  Cairo is also home to the only wonder of the ancient world that has survived to the present day.  You will see the Great Pyramid of Giza among other sights that include Tahrir Square and the vast Egyptian Museum.

Pisa & Florence, Italy Day 19-22

Though you land in Pisa and will visit the Tower, most of your time will be spent in and around Florence.  Surrounded by rolling hills covered with villas, farms, vineyards, and orchards, Florence was founded as a Roman military colony about the 1st century BC.  UNESCO declared the Historic Centre of Florence a World Heritage Site in 1982.  A truffle hunt and lunch will be one of several highlights in this Tuscan city.
